Pixels 2015

Fast-paced, fun, and ridiculous, the action is on-going from start to finish. There is plenty of action, humor, life-sized arcade game characters, and a subtle yet endearing love story to unfold.

Need For Speed

Ok, so I was a little late getting to this one. Combine high speed car action, a bit of melodrama, and some low key humor and you got Need For Speed. It's not winning any awards, but it was entertaining and engaging.

Transformers Transforms

Transformer: Age of Extinction is the fourth bio-mechanical alien epic in the series, and may serve as a transitional bridge to the story-line. While movie-goers seem to love it (they openly cheered out loud at the screening I attended when Bumble Bee and Optimus Prime make their first appearances), the critics have been trashing it. Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times calls it "Mind-numbing, bombastic action that seems never to end."

Oz The Great and Powerful

Oz The Great and Powerful is the prequel to the legendary 1939 “Wizard of Oz.” it begins many many years before Dorothy’s fateful adventure among the Munchkins.  Sam Raimi directs and the story moves along steady enough. However, a great deal of what made the film was fabulous 3D effects — and they were pretty spectacular –, coupled with wonderful sets, a touch of humor – more like one-liner wit –, and the BIG answers to questions everyone has been wondering about for 74 years.

Skyfall

The newest Bond film is good, not great, but has hints of good things to come.

ARGO

As I mentioned in my film review, this is a well-done and important film.  However the film could have used a touch more suspense and action.  Nonetheless, it was an interesting and entertaining film, one that I enjoyed watching.

Anyone see it? Have thoughts?

Looper

In my recent review, I noted that the film didn't connect on several levels, But that doesn't mean that there weren't upsides to film as well.
